The holidays are gearing up. For businesses, it is time to start enticing in the holiday sales. It is also time for gift gathering, event planning, family gatherings, and exchanges. It can be a very overwhelming time of year!

Freelancers are excellent resources for this time of year. Here are a few ideas:

For Businesses:
  • Have a freelancer write out your blogs and articles, and special email campaign for the holiday.
  • Have a photographer take images of your products and services for a catalog. Have them take holiday shots of staff to introduce them to your customers.
  • Have a Musician craft a small holiday jingle just for your business. It will be a nice reprieve from frosty snowmen and red nosed reindeer.
  • Have an event guide created to streamline the company holiday party.
  • Have an e-book created for your loyal customers, with a special discount or promotion built in. A holiday picture book to read to their children, or a helpful holiday guide.
    • For example, if you are a dog groomer you could commission an e-book on canine dietary health tips, complete with warnings about human scraps from the holiday table. Finish it off with recipes for home made dog biscuits to treat their pets to their own holiday goodies, and a discount code for their next grooming appointment.
For Family
  • Have a freelancer rewrite "It was the night before Christmas", with your child as the star. Customize it with hints of some of their favorite things (jedi or pokemon references for example). The same can be done with an original short story for any age!
  • Have an online party planner craft you a guide with recipes for your next big event. If you can hire one locally, you are in even better shape. If not, a written guide will save you hours of planning!
  • It has happened to everyone: You spend DAYS looking for the perfect gift. You travel all over three towns, twice. You wait in line forever and brave angry people armed with shopping carts. You triumphantly get your trophy home and await the appointed day.... then the person buys it right before the gift exchange. Or they end up with two copies of the same gift!
This year save yourself the agony. Commission a Freelance artist to create special images, then use sites like cafe press to make unique gift items no one will find anywhere else! This is especially helpful for someone who is hard to buy for.

These are just a few ideas to help you along for the holidays. A freelancer can make the holidays easier for a business or for family holiday planning. I will post more in the coming weeks. So be sure to bookmark the page and check back regularly.

I am also here to help you with all your writing needs. And by this weekend, Ii will also be introducing a new member of the Nis Freelance team, freelance artist Christopher Nis. He will be offering services in children's illustrations! You can get a peek at his work and commission his services now on the Fiverr tab above.
